Everyday Life - Awesome Bar Trick: Flaming Dr. Pepper - The bartender made it wrong.

This first time I have ever seen anything like the Flaming Dr. Pepper was in the movie "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell." The bartender lines up 10 glasses of beer, with a shot glass on top in between, he then blows fire across and pushed all the shot glass into the beer. I wanted to see this. And I got the chance to when I went to Sixth Street in Austin, TX.

If the shot is made correctly, it should take exactly like a Dr. Pepper. Even though this one was decent, it didn't taste like Dr. Pepper. This shot was purely for show. Here's what she did wrong, no matter how cool it looked.

  • She used Bud Light instead of Corona. The quality and taste just wasn't there.
  • The moment the shots were lit on fire, they went straight into the beer. The whole purpose of lighting it on fire is to caramelize the Amaretto, making it sweeter. That takes about 10 to 15 seconds. So basically, all she did was pour Amaretto into Bud Light.
I know this because I have made this drink for a friend's birthday, and it was delicious. Although buying a whole bottle of Barcardi 151 did get me in trouble.

Making of My Asshole Roommate

I was staying at a hotel for work. I had the night shift, so I woke up at around noon. I took out my computer, and just looked through a few footage from filming "My Asshole Roommate." I was cracking up the entire time. A lot of what happened was unintentional, but hilarious nonetheless.

During the sex scene, my role was to sit next to the bed and watch. When I brought the chair in, I put it too close to the door, and I slammed the door into the chair. We forgot to figure out where I should put this chair.

My most memorable segment was the making of the sex sounds. We didn't just use a voice recorder, we actually filmed it. It was almost impossible not to laugh.

My Asshole Roommate - The original planned first video

So, this took a bit of planning, since it involved more than just me and my sister. Two of my college friends had to gather together and work on this video. I dare say this wasn't exactly my idea, but I was really the only one enthused about this video. See, for me, this whole stupid skit comedy typey videos really appeal to me. I'm not fan of the artsy type, which isn't to say I will never to anything artsy, it's just I prefer the stupid stuff. So call me stupid, big deal.

I think the video originated because I was somewhat thought as the badboy, or the asshole, which is why I played the part of the asshole roommate. The whole premise of the story is that I am committing asshole-ish behaviors without realizing that they are asshole-ish. I simply thought that I was doing what normal college kids are doing.

Here's video. Go check it out, and hopefully you haven't done anything like that to your roommates.
The funniest part for me have to be the voiceover for the sex scene. I had to record sex sounds and it was extremely entertaining, mostly because the two people doing it are super uncomfortable with sex. You can notice it during the video. They can't stop giggling. I put in the best clip I had, but they are still noticeably laughing the entire time. Overall I think this video turned out well, and I hope you feel the same way as well.

Girl vs Bear - My First Video on My New Channel

Today I discovered my love for video creation. It's vastly different from my normal engineering job. I feel like I have ignored the creative side of my brain for years now: going to college for an engineering degree, taking mostly technical classes, and having done nothing involving creativity. Looking back now, I should have started this a long time ago. 5 years ago, as a freshman in college, a few friends and I collaborated on a parody music video of "Jizz in My Pants." I remembered how much fun we had, and often wondered why we didn't stick with it. Maybe now I could be Youtube famous and do that full time.

This first video is titled "Girl Vs. Bear." Now it isn't what you think it is; sorry to disappoint that you won't see an actual fight between a girl and a bear. It is simply a video revolving my little sister fighting with a teddy bear, who can not move on its own and requires someone behind him to move his limbs.

I had no idea I was even filming this video. This was the day before the day I filmed the next video. I had some time to kill, and I wanted to learn how to use my video editing program. I only had a normal camera, so this video was shot in 720p HD, not 1080p HD, which was a little disappointing.

This video had no script; I shot every scene based on the scene before, and most of the shots only took one shot, except for the scene with the bear walking, that took a few. It was too heavy for my sister to move, so it kept falling on top of her. You can obviously see that I am behind the bear, and my sister, who knew nothing about filming, was holding the camera.

This video turned out better that I ever expected. Sometime you just have to go with the flow.

As always, comments and criticism are welcomed, but if I don't like the comment, I won't look at it.
